Before joining us at NCHS, Mrs. O’Hara studied math, physics, and linguistics at the University of Chicago, taught elementary school computer skills from 1989-2001, and homeschooled her own children from preschool to 10th grade. At various times from 2001 on, she has taught English, history, journalism, and every level of math offered at NCHS except Statistics, settling on the three courses she loves the most: Precalculus, AP Calculus, and Publications (Yearbook). In addition, she began coaching our Knowledge Bowl team in 2005 and led the team to a state championship and two third-place trophies.
