Sports
Due to COVID-19, we are currently awaiting guidance from TCAA (TriCounty Athletic Association) for further planning regarding sports during the 2020-21 school year.
Please see a letter from our Athletic Director, Trisha Lanham, concerning sports for the 2020-2021 school year:
Dear NCA Families,
You may have heard of the plans for school sports set by WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association) for the 2020/21 school year. And you may have been wondering what Northwest Christian Academy will be doing for sports this year. Unfortunately, I do not have much information to provide to you at this time.
NCA middle school athletics is a member of TCAA (TriCounty Athletic Association). TCAA is an independent league made up of 10 schools, 6 Christian schools and 4 public schools. Although we are not a member of WIAA, we follow the rules and guidelines set by the WIAA. Our league has been closely watching the updates provided by WIAA, and although they have released their plan for the 2020/21 school year, TCAA has not yet made any set decisions for our sports program.
TCAA will be having a meeting with all the Athletic Directors at the end of August. At that time we hope to make plans for sports for the 2020/21 school year. We are also waiting on DOH and/or OSPI guidance before we make any final decisions. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
