ACTIVITIES & ELECTIVES
We maintain an educational environment that kindles the curiosity in students to discover, to think creatively, and to find joy and confidence in relationships with others. Extra and co-curricular electives, activities, and clubs are an important part of a student’s education, and NCS implements them as a way to engage our students, enhance their academic experience, and foster the growth of relationships.
FINE ARTS
It has been found that the arts allow children to express themselves creatively, bolster self-confidence, improve overall academic performance, and help them become logical and creative problem-solvers. At NCS, we offer visual, performing, and musical arts as either electives or extracurricular opportunities.
High school electives include Drama, Art 1 & 2, Publication (Yearbook), and Mixed Media.
All Grades
MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
NCA offers a variety of music lessons to include: Guitar Group, and private lessons for Piano, Violin, Voice, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Guitar, Bass, Drums and Clarinet. Lessons are offered in three month sessions (no lessons on non-school days or half-days). Additional monthly costs are incurred for these programs.
Grades: 1-8 depending on the class/lesson
THEATER
After-school theater programs are offered at both NCA and NCHS. Theater provides an outlet for students to discover themselves and create life-long relationships while learning skills they will carry into their professional and personal lives. Experiencing the emotions and thoughts of the characters in the scripts and scenarios requires growth and character that pushes kids to better themselves at every rehearsal and performance. Both schools offer two productions per school year. The NCA theater program is for grades 2-8 and additional monthly costs are incurred for this program. The NCHS theater program is included in tuition and students can receive high school credit for each production they participate in.
